On April 26, World IP Day 2020 puts innovation – and the IP rights that support it – at the heart of efforts to create a green future. Why? Because the choices we make today will shape our tomorrow. The earth is our home. We need to care for it.
In light of the on-going corona-virus pandemic, the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) will not hold any physical World IP Day events this year, and encourages member states and stakeholders to promote World IP Day 2020 as a virtual campaign. For that purpose, WIPO has launched a World IP Day Pledge Map where governments, institutions, companies, researchers, individuals and other stakeholders declare their commitment to act in favor of a green future.
Please find here a World IP Day message from WIPO Director General Francis Gurry. "Together we can innovate for a greener, brighter and more sustainable future."
