Graeme Boocock

Graeme Boocock is a Senior Patent Agent in the Ottawa Office of Borden Ladner Gervais LLP. He takes particular interest in the unique patenting challenges currently facing antibody, diagnostic, and personalized medicine inventions. Graeme’s doctoral research was undertaken at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, and culminated in discovery of the gene that is mutated in Shwachman-Diamond syndrome. He then worked a post-doctoral researcher in the department of Protein and Nucleic Acid Chemistry at the Medical Research Council's Laboratory of Molecular Biology in Cambridge (UK), where his research focused on protein engineering. Graeme is an amateur plant breeder, and recently filed a Plant Breeders’ Rights application for his new Passiflora variety, ‘Pole Star’.
