After working in management in the French civil service, Christian joined the Thales Group in 1985. He has held a number of positions including human resources manager, division manager for the SSII of the group as well as managing the function for the creation of new firms in the capital risk company.

Christian was appointed vice-president in charge of intellectual property for Thales in 1998.

In 2005, with the agreement of the group management and together with the others managers of the division, he founded Marks & Clerk France, forming a joint-venture with Marks & Clerk International (UK). He has led the growth and diversification of Marks & Clerk France over the years to double its size and has developed the transaction advisory services practice of the firm, specialising in patenting and opinion work in electronics, computer and telecom cases, and in audit, due diligence, valuation and licensing of IP.

His technical expertise lies mainly in the following fields: computer; software; telecoms, business methods; motion control; robotics; MM-inventions; valuation of IP rights for strategy setting, transactions and litigation; joint development agreements; IP landscaping; freedom-to-operate; licensing; due diligence.

• Developed a patent scoring methodology (I-Value my IP™) while with Thales. Method currently used in professional practice.
• Contributed to the development of a scoring model for European patents.
• In depth knowledge of patent scoring and valuation methodologies.
• Created the course on valuation of "Institut Européen d’Etudes de Propriété Intellectuelle" (IEEPI, France) and delivered this course for the past ten years.
• Developed a practice around the patent factory paradigm to help clients develop "litigation grade" patent portfolios.
