The 2016 AIPPI Congress in Milan was a memorable success!

by Carlo Faggioni (OC Chair) and Renata Righetti (past President of the Italian Group)

An impressive attendance of more than 2100 from 85 countries gave the participants endless networking opportunities.

The presence of top level representatives from international IP offices, a great educational program, the traditional Pharma Day, IP lunches with judges and PTO officers, an interesting last-minute panel on Brexit, serious debates on Study Questions and relevant Resolutions gave everyone a lot to learn, the privilege to debate crucial topics and to foresee the future of IP worldwide.

In addition, many unparalleled and unforgettable social events added the flavour of the hosting country: an exclusive private concert at La Scala with Riccardo Chailly as conductor, Brera Gallery and Library reserved for AIPPI attendees, an innovative format of the Opening with a speech by Francis Gurry and a live performance surrounded by images of Italian beauty, art, history and creativity and a Gala Dinner at Hangar Bicocca, the largest contemporary art exhibition area in Europe.

The Organizing Committee, the General Secretariat and the Italian National Group worked hard for several months to achieve such a result and the overwhelming number of grateful messages was the best possible reward.

Thank you to all the attendees of the Milan Congress – we hope to see all of you in Sydney next year!
