Designs
The Designs Committee focuses on the protection and enforcement of design rights. Design rights is an umbrella term used to cover all design-related rights, including registered designs, unregistered design, design patents, industrial design rights, design models, etc. The Design Committee monitors and studies developments in the field of design rights world-wide, including judicial decisions, proposed laws, rules and regulations, conferences and academic scholarship.
The Committee is an Official Observer at both the Standing Committee and Trademark, Designs and Geographical Indicators and the Hague Working Group at the World Intellectual Property Office.
The Committee often provides comments on proposals, surveys and questionnaires posed by governmental agencies. The Committee regularly meets, including quarterly teleconferences and an in-person meeting at the Annual Congress. The Design Committee is known as a group passionate about the intriguing field of design rights with a strong sense of collegiality.
