Stuart Corbishley

Stuart Corbishley is an experienced sports lawyer and administrator who has advised a number of high profile national and international sports bodies on a range of legal, governance, integrity and commercial matters.

At Allens Linklaters, Stuart managed a broad commercial practice focused on advising major Australian and international sports and events clients and, in 2009, he was asked to head up the legal team at the Delhi 2010 Commonwealth Games. After returning from India in 2011, Stuart worked with Cricket Australia in establishing the inaugural KFC T20 Big Bash League. In 2012, Stuart was appointed General Counsel & Company Secretary of AFC Asian Cup Australia 2015, where he led the legal team and was responsible for managing all legal matters relevant to the organisation of the event.

Over the past couple of years, Stuart has assisted Cricket Australia on establishing the Rebel Women’s Big Bash League, Football Federation Australia on its sale of the Newcastle Jets A-League club, Athletics Australia on establishing Nitro Athletics and Netball Australia on establishing the Suncorp Super Netball competition. Stuart is currently acting as General Counsel for Invictus Games Sydney 2018 and for Football Federation Australia’s FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 Bid.

Stuart is also a Director of Triathlon Australia and the Australian and New Zealand Sports Law Association, and is a member of Athletics Australia's Ethics and Integrity Committee and Football NSW's Legal & Regulatory Committee.
