Ms. Miyagawa graduated from the University of Tokyo (LLB) in 1984 and then from Harvard Law School (LLM) in 1993. She has been admitted to the bar in Japan (1986) and in New York (1994). She has 30 years of experience handling IP matters (especially trademarks, designs, copyright, unfair competition and trade secrets) and has represented both domestic and foreign clients in infringement litigation as well as IP-related business negotiations. She has been highly ranked as one of the best IP lawyers in Japan.
She has actively worked as a member of Japanese governmental committees related to IP rights. Since 2013 she has served as a member of the IP Strategy Headquarters of the Cabinet for advice on Japanese IP strategies and policies. She is also a lecturer on IP Law at Keio Law School.
