Luis Berenguer Giménez read Law at the Universidad Complutense in Madrid, graduating in 1992. He has a Master’s degree in Business Law from the Asociación para el Progreso en la Dirección (1996) and Magister Lvcentinvs (specializing in Intellectual Property) at the Universidad de Alicante (1997). He began his career as an IP lawyer in 1997, with a special focus on geographical indications. Since then, he has spoken at many national, European and international events, and has regularly contributed to IP legal publications.
He began teaching Commercial Law (IP and Competition) at the Universidad Miguel Hernández in 1999. He has also taught a number of other postgraduate courses.
In 2011, he joined OHIM as a member of the President’s Cabinet, becoming Head of OHIM’s Communication Service in 2014.
