Jenny is a partner in the international IP group of Bird & bird, based in London.  She specialises in multi-jurisdictional patent litigation within the life sciences sector, including pharmaceuticals, biologics, medical devices, and agricultural biotechnology. Within these industries, she has represented clients before the UK Patents Court, in LCIA arbitration, mediation and opposition at the European Patent Office.

Jenny holds an MSc in molecular biology and genetics from the University of British Columbia, a law degree from Dalhousie University and an LLM from the University of Cambridge.  Jenny’s science thesis was in agricultural biotechnology, using molecular biology techniques to elucidate the flavonoid pathway in plants.  Her legal thesis considered the justiciability of copyright infringement claims.

Jenny recently co-authored a chapter on the protection of pharmaceuticals in Europe published by the American Bar Association and is recognised as a patent expert in the 2016 edition of the Who’s Who Patent Guide.
