  • Main Task:

    To advise the Bureau on its current projects for the improvement of the AIPPI administration in cooperation with the Dowling/Pedrazzini Committee.
    To propose and advise the Association on possibilities of improving the AIPPI administration within the framework of the Statutes.
    To prepare studies on the desirability and possible parameters of a long term reform of the organisation of AIPPI.
    To liaise with the FAC.

    – the development and efficiency of the AIPPI administration

    – its projects for the improvement of the AIPPI administration

  • Documentation:

    Collect and provide the Bureau:
    – with its views on the administration of AIPPI

    – Reports on its activities annually 2 months before each international Meeting
    – its studies on the improvement of the administration as well as on the desirability and possible parameters of a long term reform until January 1998.

  • Special Instructions:

    The Chairman of the Committee shall inform Committee Officers, and in the case of Special Committees the Committee Members, of relevant Committee activities and shall seek, if possible, their advise and cooperation in formulating the Committees views.

    To formulate, and with the approval of the Bureau to submit and represent AIPPI´s standpoint before the European Patent Organisation.

    – immediately Reports on matters of special interest in the field

  • Special Instructions:

    To establish to which degree the Members of TRIPS are living up to their obligations under Section 4 of Part III: “Enforcement of Intellectual Property Rights of TRIPS”, and to establish to which extent further measures than prescribed by that part of TRIPS are deemed desirable.

  • Monitoring:

    Any future developments in that context.

  • Advise to the Bureau:

    On all actions to be taken by AIPPI in the above context, after a Resolution will have adopted by the EXCO in Sorrento, April 2000, including initiatives of the Bureau to contact WTO.

  • Documentation:

    Provide the Bureau with pertinent documents to be obtained from:
    – Groups as to developments in their countries or regions;
    – WTO;
    – European Commissions
    any other useful source.

  • Reporting:

    On all further activities of the Committee.

  • Special Instructions:
