The Malaysian National Group of AIPPI will be holding the Inaugural AIPPI ASEAN Regional Meeting on 3 March 2016 in Kuala Lumpur at the Pullman Kuala Lumpur City Centre Hotel & Residences. The Malaysian Intellectual Property Corporation (MyIPO), a statutory corporation in charge of registration of IP rights in Malaysia, is a supporting organization of the conference. A very exciting and interesting programme has been drawn up for the Inaugural ASEAN Regional Meeting 2016. There will be various topics discussed with a focus on trends, challenges and opportunities related to the current economic situation such as the impact of the Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement (TPPA) and the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC).
There will be lively discussions on the latest intellectual property issues such as taking advantage of trade mark and inventorship of multinational inventions. Representatives from the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and European Patent Office (EPO) will share their experiences on how to drive the economic growth in the region through strengthening of intellectual property system.
Last but not least, participants can expect to hear about valuation of intellectual property. Speakers and panelists that are expected to be featured at the meeting are well qualified and respected lawyers, academics, officials and practitioners in their various fields hailing from multiple countries including Australia, United Kingdom, China, Singapore, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Indonesia and Thailand.
