Denise W. DeFranco has practiced patent litigation in U.S. district courts for more than 20 years. Recently, her practice has expanded to include post-grant proceedings before the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office. She has successfully litigated disputes in a wide range of technologies and has represented clients before the U.S. Supreme Court and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. Ms. DeFranco is a recognized leader in the U.S. IP community. She is currently serving as President of AIPLA and the U.S. Division of AIPPI. Prior to joining private practice, Ms. DeFranco clerked for the now retired Chief Judge Paul R. Michel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and examined patent applications as a Patent Examiner at the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office. Ms. DeFranco received her J.D. from George Washington University and a B.S.E. in Biomedical Engineering from Tulane University.
