  • Main Task:

    To prepare, monitor and handle the question on the Agenda of the Executive Committee Meeting in Sorrento 2000.
    To follow and monitor the treatments of advertising restrictions on trademarks in national legislation and case law of WTO Members and in regional legislation as well as case law, such as EU, NAFTA and the like.
    To collect the respective information from National Groups and analyse it and its impact in order to be able to envisage and submit proposals for adequate solutions.

  • Monitoring:

    To monitor the development of national and multinational legislation.
    To monitor major national and regional jurisprudence.

  • Advise to the Bureau:

    To advise the Bureau on developments in the field rendering intervention of AIPPI desirable.
    To advise the Bureau on issues meriting further study.

  • Documentation:

    To collect and provide the Bureau with:
    all WTO, EU, NAFTA, MERCOSUL as well as ASEAN documentation on the subject
    national documentation of particular interest, including court decisions.

  • Reporting:

    To provide (in addition to point 7):
    annually two months before each international Meeting an account of activities sine the last such Meeting (incl. Negative Report)
    immediately reports on matters of special interest in the field.

  • Special Instructions:

    Except as otherwise agreed all Reports, Minutes and other documentation are to be submitted to the General Secretariat.
