To monitor, study and advise on specific issues (for example jurisdictional issues or the new gTLD program)brought forward by ICANN (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers) that are of interest and consequence to AIPPI;
To formulate and propose AIPPI’s solutions or views on those issues;
To represent AIPPI in the respective bodies of the GNSO(Generic Names Supporting Organization), primarily in the IPC (Intellectual Property Constituency);
To establish contacts with those bodies (primarily the IPC)and to seek support from representatives of those bodies for AIPPI’s proposals and views;
To identify other issues arising in relation to domain names beyond the core task of Q160;
To prepare Resolutions and to report regularly (and at least once a year on the occasion of the Annual Meeting of AIPPI) to the Bureau and the ExCo;
To make suggestions for the future work of the Committee (rating issues according to their practical relevance).
