Annsley is an intellectual property litigator at Bristows LLP in London, specializing in complex cross-border patent, SPC and trade secrets litigation in the life sciences and TMT sectors.
After studying chemical engineering in the US, she graduated with an LL.B (Honours) from the University of Bristol in 2007 and continued her legal studies at UCL under the late Sir Hugh Laddie QC, graduating with an LL.M in Intellectual Property Law in 2008. With her scientific background, Annsley frequently acts for leading innovative life sciences companies on business critical patent and SPC litigation before the English courts and CJEU.
Annsley is listed as an IP Rising Star by Super Lawyers (2014, 2015) and, in 2014, was shortlisted in the same category for Euromoney’s Europe Women in Business Law Awards.
Over the past 6 years she has been closely involved in preparations for the Unified Patent Court advising clients and industry associations on the impact of the UPC on litigation strategy. In 2014, she was appointed as Secretary of AIPPI’s Standing Committee on the Unified Patent Court and Unitary Patent. Since 2009, she has been a permanent member of the award-winning IPKat blog team, publishing news on emerging European and US IP law trends and strategy under the name “AmeriKat”.
